so, i got some hats to the photographer i will be using to take photos of my hats. she is really quite good, i look at them and think they should be in a magazine. and her boys are beautiful. i am sending off a bunch more hats (and booties) to her today and i am excited to see the results.

life has been insane and i was surprised to get orders over christmas break (saved my booty), but now it is slow and i can get caught up on other things. the first and foremost is trading hats for photos. Shipra Panosian contacted me and was finally someone who photographed, but did it with a feel that i like. its warm, no matter how cold the picture looks, and its real. everyone else takes pictures just the same (no offense, they're all beautiful pictures and i'd love to be able to photograph anything that came out that nice) and i like her different style.

school has began to keep me busy again. but it will all be okay, i am sure. i have a very good feeling about this semester (versus last) and feel i have a wonderful 7 months ahead of me (1.5 in France)

i finished my "full line" of colors for my hats. and its about time! so i have lots of colors for people to pick from. whether you want a visor, newsie, slouchy or just plain beanie, i can make it (and would love to).

sweaters

so, since it is fall and it gets cold in utah pretty quick and stays there for the next 5 months, i have been trying to find some really nice/pretty patterns. and i love bolero type cardigans, okay, i LOVE cardigans. so there are a bunch in the mix too. most of these are knitted, but i could figure out a way to crochet them, i am positive :) there are more favorited on ravelry. now i just need to find some good lightweight yarn that is warn and inexpensive. lightweight is the key though. its like the lighter you go, the more expensive it is. (why???)

my grandmother has gotten so excited of all my projects i have taken on. she keeps wanting to show me hat patterns and so on. well she has a book she let me borrow that has the prettiest place mats (you could make them any size and use them for anything really) and i am going to make them. just need to find the right gold/mustard color.

so for jenna's birthday this year, i made her a purse. her birthday was may 17. it is now july 27th and i finally just finished it yesterday. i hope she uses it and likes it :)

i have realized how much i like making shoes. well, i guess they're slippers. this design is so nice, and being me, i have to alter the pattern and i don't pay attention to it after a couple of uses. it all becomes freestyle and for some reason, i can't stick to patterns. the design yes, but not the specifics.

So Angela told me to email this lady who is doing a feature in small magazine. At first I wasn't sure, but then I decided to see what she says, and...drum roll please...My crochet stuff for kids will be featured in the Fall issue of the magazine. Yay! I just think that is neat and my grandmother would be proud :)

So, please stay tuned as I make lots of new stuff! (and lets hope its good!)

My planned items are: beanies, scarves, booties, & leggings (fall/winter stuff). Not sure how many will be made of each...but at least two. It's a lot, but she is sending them back to me in the end, so I figure meh, what the heck! This is my chance!

And I have the PERFECT yarn in mind.

This set was made for my niece's 1st birthday. She's rather plump, and I want this to last more than 1 month, so the sizes are a little bigger than a regular 1 year-old. But I enjoyed making it and this weekend she will be photo'd with them on :) yay!

I really do enjoy seeing my crocheted stuff on little kids.
